At last here are the odds and sods!

ah saturday night beer!

Foto number five is intriguing; we don't expect the lit items in the foreground when viewing a sunset. Wed 5-Apr-2006 15:01

Odds and sods

Have been really hectic with work and realise I haven't posted anything for a while (and also admit I've got hooked on another photo site too!). Anyway in the chaos that rules on my computer I have a file in My Pictures folder called odds and sods with all sorts of stuff in it. Here are 6 shots at random.

Keep up the entries to the Photo challenge - this looks like being a good one!!

Care to comment?

What's the truth?

The original photo
The new sky from the bank!
The new picture
View all 6 photos...
As you will know from some of my recent posts I've been swotting up on digital manipulation techniques. I have currently raided the local libary for books on the subject (and photography in general) and one of the tips was on that on sunny days with lovely blue skies you should take lots to get a few skies "in the bank". An interesting concept! I then remebered a series of photos that I took a couple of summers ago of some fields of poppies but was disappointed by the pics as the sky was too grey. So I set to work finding a better sky to see what I could do. The process and results are below plus a few other alternatives!

there you go!! a beautiful blue sky Sat 25-Mar-2006 01:31

Your results are very good. I happen to like the red field under the b&w sky. It's hard to know what to believe in modern fotography. News photographers have to be very careful when making any sort of corrections to photos. Wed 5-Apr-2006 14:59

I like the one with the ladder, the old ladder, the contracting colours makes the composition interesting. Lovely shot! Thank you for sharing. Sat 18-Mar-2006 03:14

When I'm not hanging around graveyards I stand in cold windy fields phtographing men in lycra!

Nicely done...I can also stand in the rain photographing this kind of shot...but focusing more on the action rather than the men themselves... Fri 10-Mar-2006 08:17

Dawn in the churchyard

View all 6 photos...
More skulking in the churchyard! Woke up early on sunday morning - in spite of being out late at a party the night beforeand couldn't get back to sleep thinking of the fantastic shots I'd missed on Friday morning. Typically the frost was nowhere near as hard so tried to capture the mood of the churchyard. It was amazingly peaceful - apart from when the rooks flew over headjust before the sun came over the horizon. It was also very poignant to see a grave waiting for someone to be buried....

Beautifully done... Thu 9-Mar-2006 14:30

It's a powerful set of images. I wonder about long-forgotten monuments that were once new, the forces of nature taking decades to soften the letters and details.... Fri 17-Mar-2006 16:48

Wells revisited

View all 6 photos...
I've been playing around with some of my old photos of Wells and have even printed some of these off and framed them. It's a step in the right direction - now I've just got to hang them on the walls instead of putting them under the stairs with all the rest!!

these 3 photos show a remarkable eye and thought towards composition and technical ability to further the photo thru' processing ... absolutely beautiful.
Definitely deserve being hung on a wall... even someone elses. Have you tried selling?

Kinda reminded me when Little Red Riding Hood said "Grandma, what big eyes you have"
The wolf said "The better to see you, dear."
You're not the wolf but U see thing clearer than the wolf ever could!
Beautiful!!!!
