Twelfth Night...

Christmas is now distant memory...the kids are back at school and we are back at our desks. Got a bit close to our woodburning stove when taking these pics and the lens got hot and wouldn't focus after a while. Luckily it was OK once it had cooled down. Phew!!

Sunrise and sunset

It's not often that I'm up in time to snap the dawn, but these dark winter mornings make it much easier! The first three shots were taken from my bedroom window this morning with the Digital SLR and the last three on my way home this evening with the point and shoot.

As a point of interest I am eating! I had organic porridge with Greek honey for breakfast, spicy lentil soup and bread for lunch and pasta with a smoked salmon, broad bean and fromage frais sauce for dinner!

great shots!! Fri 7-Jan-2005 14:56

Photo Challenge 54 - How to...

Original picture
black and white
saturation
View all 9 photos...
...create lots of pictures from just one image.

I use photoshop a fair bit to enhance some pictures (yes my sunsets often benefit from a bit of extra colour saturation!). This set shows just a brief glimpse of what can be done with one image!

very nice *thema con variazione*
and, eh...
campaign or no campaign -- please take care of yourself and don't forget to eat! (this is an order -- and a tall one)

New Year's resolutions

View all 7 photos...
I start every year with good intentions - maybe this year they'll last longer than just January. If not the Scott Kelby Photoshop book has some great tips on body sculpting!!

I agree with JP....good luck!! Sun 2-Jan-2005 21:09

What a creative way to post what we all do every year. I'm going to link to this entry and see if I can't do my own resolution entry. I challenge the rest of our foto-friends to do the same! Wed 5-Jan-2005 05:26

Wells in Winter

Just to prove that the best beach in the world is equally dramatic in winter. Like hoards of others we braved the icy wind to walk along the exposed path to the sea. We rewarded ourselves afterwards with a pint of "warm" English real ale in front of a roaring fire in the Crown Hotel!

nice fotos...happy new year Fri 31-Dec-2004 07:31

Boxing day walk

View all 12 photos...
The traditional thing on Boxing Day is to go to a footy match. My husband, son and I managed to get tickets for the Norwich vs Spurs game. We arrived pretty early and decided to go for a walk along the river into the City. I hadn't brought my SLR camera but just happened to have the little point and shoot in my bag....

The match drew a record crowd of over 24,000 - it's hard to imagine this amount of people being wiped out in a matter of seconds on the other side of the world...

Very nice, serene shots....well done! Tue 28-Dec-2004 21:05

It's hard to imagine by looking at your fotos here that a vicious "footy match" would be going on nearby. Would that be rugby or soccer or American football? I'm guessing soccer, or football, but I'm not a sports fan of any sort so I'm not really qualified to guess.... Tue 28-Dec-2004 21:59

Merry Christmas!

I think we must be the only house around that hangs Tibetan prayer flags for christmas!

What a nice looking home. But the way you show off your Christmas cards looks like a lot of work! "We got another card, honey -- get the ladder out again." Mon 27-Dec-2004 16:13

I like your style. With these kind of shots you definately need colour. B & W would not do it with most of them.

Anyways.... thanks for your comment and Happy New Year!

Oh JP is right, that is a cool way to display your Christmas cards. I used to tape mine on a mirrored wall, but we got rid of the mirrors this past year and so I bought that wide decorative Christmas ribbon and hung lengths of it and stapled the cards down the ribbon.

Am enjoying perusing your photos. I especially like the fifth one in your Boxing Day Walk entry. Thanks for sharing them with the rest of us fotopages folks.
